About

Nancy Collet is a veteran film festival strategist and entertainment professional with more than30 years of experience navigating the international film landscape. She founded Cinema Collet, a Beverly Hills–based consulting firm dedicated to guiding independent filmmakers and cultural institutions through premiere strategy, festival positioning, and distribution pathways.

Before launching Cinema Collet in 2007, Nancy served a decade as Director of Programming at AFI FEST, where she helped elevate the festival’s international profile, secured major premieres, and built key industry partnerships. Her tenure established deep relationships across the global festival circuit — relationships she continues to leverage on behalf of her clients today.

Through Cinema Collet, Nancy works hands-on with narrative and documentary filmmakers to shape launch strategies, advocate directly with programmers, navigate premiere status, and position films for long-term success. Her clients’ films have screened at SXSW, Tribeca, Toronto, Deauville, Slamdance, DOC NYC, Tallinn Black Nights, Heartland, and hundreds of festivals worldwide. In 2025 alone, Cinema Collet–represented films were selected for more than 200 festivals globally.

In addition to filmmaker advocacy, Nancy has launched and advised film festivals worldwide andconsulted with organizations such as the Toronto International Film Festival, NYU, the USC Shoah Foundation, Telefilm Canada, and the French Consulate. She frequently serves as a juror, moderator, and industry panelist.

Nancy is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, with dual degrees in Marketing and Psychology. She grew up in New York City and began her career in the mailroom at the William Morris Agency — an early immersion in the business of representation that continues to shape her strategic approach today.
